Актуальність статті зумовлена потребою поглибленого прочитання шевченкознавчих праць доктора філологічних наук, професора Людмили Задорожної у дискурсі сучасного шевченкознавства. Мета: ознайомити із оригінальністю мислення професора, а також найпомітнішими результатами її багаторічних наукових здобутків. Охарактеризовано основні вектори шевченкознавчих пошуків Людмили Задорожної, опублікованих переважно на сторінках збірника "Шевченкознавчі студії". Перспективи подальших досліджень визначаються багатогранністю мислення науковця і великою кількістю публікацій, присвячених творчості Тараса Шевченка, які наразі ще не є детально вивченими.
The article analyzes the contribution of Professor Lyudmila Zadorozhna (the Doctor of Philology) to the development of Ukrainian Shevchenko Studies. The article also describes the main vectors of scholarly researches on Shevchenko, published in the "Shevchenko studies" collection. The purpose of this research is to acquaint the audience with professor"s original scientific style and way of thinking. The methods of the research include descriptive method, biographical method, and typological method. The results of this research are described below. We have investigated how scientific interests of Lyudmyla Zadoro&zhna in the field of Shevchenko studies changed and evolved from the theme of Ukrainian-Armenian literary relations to different relevant issues of the modern Shevchenko studies. In other words, we mean the researches on translation of Taras Shevchen&ko"s poems into Armenian by Ashot Hrashi, the correlation of symbols in Taras Shevchenko"s poetry, the concepts of heroics, freedom and composure in philosophical context, the studies dedicated to national self-identity in the works by Taras Shevchen&ko, etc. The importance of our work and conclusions is predefined by actuality and novelty of the results. Through Liudmyla Zadorozhna"s research, we see how Shevchenko"s artistic conception demonstrated evolution of views and understanding of the ma&in themes in the Ukrainian literature, especially the idea of free people in God"s world. We have also clarified, which issues (primarily those based on analysis of literature and philosophy) discussed in publications of the notable scholar are worth& developing and investigating further within the modern Shevchenko studies.
